Steve Verner offers ratings courses throughout the season. Questions or requests for alternate course dates should be sent directly to Steve.

A deposit must be made no later than two weeks prior to course start date in order to hold your spot.

  • Coach Rating Course - June 2 - 4, 2020
  • Accelerated Freefall Rating Course - June 24 - 28, 2020
  • UPT Sigma Tandem Rating Course - August 11 - 14, 2020
  • Coach Rating Course - September 4 - 6, 2020

Qualified candidates meet these minimum requirements

  • Current USPA Member with B-License or higher
  • Logged at least 100 jumps

Coach Course Pre-requisites (must be completed prior to your rating course)

  • Obtain current IRM and SIM
  • Complete Coaches Test found in USPA IRM
  • Assist in a First Jump Course and have supervising instructor sign off on Coach Proficiency card found in IRM

USPA AFF INSTRUCTOR RATING

Tunnel training with your examiner is available prior to course start date. Flying will be done at iFLY Chicago - Naperville, approximately 40 minutes away from CSC. Please contact Steve Verner no later than two weeks prior to your arrival to arrange tunnel time.

Qualified candidates meet these minimum requirements

  • Current USPA Member with C-License or higher
  • Logged at least 6 hours freefall time
  • Has held a coach rating for one year OR has held a coach rating and has logged at least 500 total jumps
  • Obtain current SIM and IRM
  • Completed all pre-requisites on the AFF Proficiency Card in USPA IRM
  • Logged at least 10 coach jumps
  • Complete General Instructors and AFF Instructors Tests (found in IRM)

UPT SIGMA Tandem Instructor Rating

Qualified candidates meet these minimum requirements

  • Logged at least 500 jumps
  • Completed at least three current years in the sport
  • Holds or has held a current USPA Coach or Instructor rating
  • Current USPA Member with D-License
  • Holds FAA Class III Medical Certificate or higher

Tandem Course Pre-requisites (must be completed prior to your rating course)

  • Obtain current IRM and SIM
  • Obtain UPT Sigma Manual
  • Complete everything listed on the Tandem Instructor Proficiency Card located in the IRM
  • Complete the USPA T-I test in the IRM
  • Complete General Instructors and UPT Sigma Tandem tests
