World Freefall Convention - Rantoul Skydiving
Rantoul Illinois is located in central Illinois, just north of Champaign - Urbana. Rantoul was a military town for the Chanute Air Force Base which was shut down. Since then, the organizers of the World Freefall Convention moved their event from Quincy, IL to Rantoul due to being kicked out of Quincy. Since then, the World Freefall Convention has been getting smaller and smaller. For 5 years, CSC was asked to take on the coveted role of running the skydiving school at the Convention. We ran it for 2 years in Quincy and 3 in Rantoul. Once we saw the numbers dropping off in Rantoul, we knew we needed to start our own event. Chicagoland Skydiving Center now hosts a Boogie every summer to offer skydivers a cheaper alternative to the very expensive event in Rantoul.
